I loved the idea of an offbeat heroine! When our hero, Jack McTavish is called in to checkout a mysterious 911 call, he interviews the witness and Greta says she "thinks" she saw a murder but her train of thought is constantly diverted and she is always leaving the room or loosing her train of thought so Jack and his partner (who thinks she's kooky), almost write it off to a psychotic loony! But, Jack's gut has never steered him wrong and although he's just coming off rehab from a gunshot wound, he decides to follow through on this case without a shred of evidence! Greta knows there is something different about Jack than other people she's met but with her "dark" background, she can't get close to him. However, she has to make him believe that she really did see a murder! So many interesting things to love about this book and I especially loved that characters from former books in the series came back! Such an enjoyable story to read! Greta is indeed a different heroine but that's what made it interesting!
