The book is an attempt to explore concerns of the "High Streets of the United Kingdom". The study includes the identification of categories based upon which one will "feel the difference" amongst high streets, which includes; the architecture, history or heritage, tenant mix, street furniture, plantation, and overall "appearance". This book is an outcome of a postgraduate dissertation submitted by the author to the University of Glamorgan in September 2008.
