About this eBook

Kelly Roman was good at her job. As a forensic anthropologist, she could help the dead and help the families find closure. The one thing she hated about her job was her boss, Shamus Van. That man was out to sabotage everything she did. And when he brought in the new chief of police, Bancroft Dalton, to make her look bad, that was the last straw. She’d quit before they had a chance to fire her.

When Bancroft showed up at her front door, he asked to be invited in, and when he told her he couldn’t lie to her, it set off all kinds of bells and whistles in Kelly’s suspicions. It wasn’t the fact that he was a vampire that bothered her, it was the part about him not being able to lie to her. She knew shifters couldn’t lie to their mates. There was no way in hell she was letting a man barge into her life and take over….

Kelly Roman was twenty-eight, a highly sought-after forensic pathologist, and ER doctor, a police officer at the local department in her little town, and occasionally works cases for the FBI. Even with all these credentials, her supervisor and the chief of police are, in her opinion, baboons who couldn't find their bottom with both hands. The day she'd met the new chief she'd had her fill with continually trying to justify herself, her accomplishments, and her job. She didn't want to hear anymore and walked out, giving her badge and phone to security. If the day hadn't been one of the worst in her life, to top it off, the new chief, Bancroft Dalton, wound up being a 2000-year-old vampire and her mate. SHE DIDN'T WANT A MAN IN HER LIFE!!! Bancroft, aka Banny, finds her accomplished, quirky, and adorable. It's also a good thing he's patient and determined because he's going to need both if he wants to win her over. What a fun, romantic, highly-charged story with side characters, small mysteries, family turmoil, and the promise of friends to come. I can't wait to start 'Stanley, aka Remy' next.
