also gives an overview of the industry in India. It has been kept short so that you could
finish it in three to four sittings.
The author is a retired banker with nearly 4 decades of working experience in a public sector bank in India. He joined the bank as a directly recruited officer and had the opportunity to work in operations, administration, training, and Information Technology divisions. He has witnessed and also contributed his mite to the striking metamorphosis that the banks have undergone with the advent of computerization which progressed from standalone machines to local area networks at individual branches and finally to fully centralized core banking implementations.
