'Blake' is the sixth book in the "Whitfield Rancher" series and boy, did it start off with a bang! First, we were introduced to an art critic who had to eat humble pie. There's no way not to love Ollie!! The original judge who was presiding over Blake's adoption of Bennett and Joey was about a mean, cynical old coot who rather flips his noodle when things didn't exactly sit well with him. We get to meet Shadow Henderson, Blake's mate. She fits right in with the other sisters-in-law. At one point, even Adrian thinks Shadow is a little scary. LOL, There are twists and turns, revelations, villains within the family, and betrayal. Even with the drama and evil that's faced, there's still love, loyalty, honor, friends, and family that pull together and have each other's back. Although I would be remiss if I didn't point out, there is a part in this book that quite literally broke my heart. So have tissues at hand because if you're vested in the series, you'll need them.
