Dickens began his literary career as a journalist and shot to fame with the serial publication of 'The Pickwick Papers' in 1836. He went on to produce a remarkable series of novels, including 'Oliver Twist' (1837), 'David Copperfield' (1849–50), and 'Great Expectations' (1860–61). His novel 'Bleak House', published in serial form from 1852 to 1853, is commonly celebrated for its intricate narrative and incisive critique of the English judicial system. He masterfully employs a vast ensemble of characters and a dual narrative structure to explore the complexities of the social and legal landscape of his time. Dickens's writing is characterized by its rich humor, irony, and moral seriousness.
