The original intent of the work was to focus on a detailed description of living conditions in the London slums, the spiritual and physical appearance of the poor and renegades of the capital. With the change in design, the ideological and compositional center of the novel shifted - it became the Chancery Court, the supreme Court of Justice, at that time the highest court after the House of Lords. The author of the "Bleak House" denounces English justice.
