Wonderful Series While I have not read all the books of this series, I absolutely adore the ones I’ve read. The author, in general, is able to craft relatively short stories (novellas) that pack an emotional punch, with vivid characters, well-thought-out plots, and unusual paranormal twists. I enjoy them so much that I actually recommended this series to my mother, who tends to prefer historical romances. I actually recommend little to her as she knows her preferences, even though we share a love of that genre. But I have enjoyed this series so much that I bought her one book so she could try it out! Prior to getting my hands on this particular collection, I had only read three of the books in it as with my somewhat crazy life I sometimes miss books, even from authors that I like. That's why I love box sets like this one. They allow me to catch up all at once and enjoy favorites again, too. Here is a review of several of the books in this set. Carol’s Christmas: A Modern Retelling of a Christmas Classic I love a good spin on Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. It truly is the perfect template to show fast-moving character growth. I think this book is a perfect reflection of what a novel or novella based on that story should be. The author did an excellent job showing who Carol is now and why and how she became the way she is along the way. The author also manages to reveal problems that definitely exist within our broken medical system in the United States. The arc of Carol's growth seemed natural and fit her past as well as what was revealed of her present. I like that the author was even able to include a Tiny Tim like character in this story, the son of her beleaguered physician’s assistant. Unlike Dickens’ story, we actually get to see more of how Carol's life changed on that pivotal Christmas Day with an extended look at what she does then and goes even further into the future to show us her much happier life. This character’s change is spectacular and imbued with all the Christmas spirit that we hope to find in a retelling of A Christmas Carol. If you enjoy retellings of classic Christmas stories and movies, this very brief novella may very well fit the bill. Heather’s Hero: While I have not read every book in the Romancing the Spirit series, I've absolutely adored every one I've read. They are certainly unique in both the romance genre and the paranormal romance subgenre. This story pulls you right in with a terrible car crash; our spectral hero saves our heroine's life by demanding she gets out of her car before it bursts into flames. Her evil ex has found her, but she has a new protector… in a fireman ghost! Both the hero and the heroine have strengths, but they're also vulnerable. The hero is all about wanting to protect the heroine, but he doesn't even know his name and seems a little lost himself. The heroine has incredible strength despite her past and what is currently happening, yet despite that strength, she is emotionally and physically vulnerable. I love the interaction between the hero and the heroine, especially at first when they're both trying to figure out precisely what is going on. It was sweetly humorous. The author writes in a style that seems so natural and realistic; I could imagine the scenes and the dialogue. I'm sure it's not as easy as she makes it look. I really have come to love these stories by this author, and I eagerly await as they come out. Chloe’s Cupid: I'm always surprised how well the author does writing such short novellas without any information dumps and with excellent characterization and plot pacing. In this particular book, we meet our heroine as she is going to a mystical shop owned by a friend’s aunt. She's not quite sure if she believes all the hocus-pocus, but she and her fiance have tried twice before to get married but have the ceremony ruined by something outside of their control. She is hoping for something to help. What she doesn't expect is that the help will come in the form of the ghost of Cupid. [End of room!]

Hours of entertaining reading. This collection was so bloody hard to put down the pieces were outstanding. I refuse to choose one of the adventures over the other because they were so unique and wonderful. I loved the characters and how the author gave the reader tales of romance mixed with danger was truly marvelous. The author also added humor into her tales and the interaction between the characters made for hours of entertaining reading. I highly recommend this collection I think you will love it as much as I did. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
