About this eBook

Cade Terence, a former SEAL, has spent the last two years physically recovering when his unit's truck drove over an antitank landmine. Six other team-mates were also badly hurt, the seventh dead, in what their team leader Badger Horley realized later had to be a trap set to take them out. The father of Laszlo, a member of his unit, was in a hit-and-run. Investigating this accident leads Cade and other members of the team on a trail with very definite connections to the original incident that nearly got him and the entire squad killed.

Faith Halladay is a commercial airline pilot. When her best friend Elizabeth is in a serious accident that leaves her in a coma and threatens to steal her life, she rushes to Norway to sit vigil at her bedside. There, she meets Cade, who asks all sorts of questions about the accident that she can't answer. The attitude Elizabeth's family displays when they lose hope that their daughter will survive stuns Faith, leading to a heated confrontation.

Cade's endless questions now have her asking her own. She reconnects with him only to discover that her relationship with Cade has put her in a killer's sights, and the nightmare that's become his world is now her own.

This is a terrific story, the third in the series telling the story of the men who survived an IED and the women that help them heal. The romance is standalone, but the ongoing investigation ties all the books together. Cade is in Norway investigating the hit-and-run that nearly killed his teammate's father, and finds Faith, a woman he briefly met, at the same hospital at her friend's bedside. As their paths continue to intersect, they're inexplicably drawn to each other, but Cade's primary focus is on finding the truth behind the bombing and subsequent attacks on his team. As with the previous books, the love story is intense, but takes a back seat to the investigation. Still, this is an amazing story of the bravery, determination, and brotherhood of the SEALs and the women they love. It's written very realistically, with no easy answers and a slow-building revealing of the facts and reasons interconnected to the initial bombing. If you love military romances, this book was written for you. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

With Badger still in serious condition after his surgery, and Erick needed to act as point person and contact with Mason (SEALs of HONOR) and Levi (HEROES FOR HIRE), Cade, Talon, and Laszlo are taking their next step in finding the person who has been hiring hit-men internationally to not only destroy the surviving members of the truck explosion in Afghanistan two years ago, but also to kill four, possibly five, of their family members through hit-and-run and other auto accidents. Up until now, those were thought to be unfortunate and unrelated events, but as our five heroes compare notes, it appears these tragedies are indeed connected and meant to cause more pain to the former SEALs unit members. Badger’s parents, Erick’s older brother, and Cade’s sister have died; and Laszlo’s father was also the victim of a hit-and-run on a dark road in Norway but is still alive. So, Cade, Talon and Laszlo are flying to Oslo to investigate. On the flight they meet Faith Halladay, an airline pilot with whom they shared a cab on their arrival in Santa Fe from Afghanistan. Faith’s close friend, Elizabeth, has also been injured in a serious auto accident in Norway. Could this be another related accident, and could Faith also be in danger because she recognized the face of the driver of the rented SUV that hit Laszlo’s father and could confirm that he had been in Santa Fe the day before they left for Norway? Cade bonds with Faith while protecting her, and Geir arrives to help. Monkeyman, who escaped capture in Kabul, reappears in Oslo.

** spoiler alert ** (4.5)SEALS of Steel is an enjoyable series. This is book 3 and I am ready for 4 :) Although they can be read as a stand a lone, I do not recommend that. This series is like watching a play as the plot unfolds each act (book) I don't quite grasp the quick connection with Faith and Cade, but I did enjoy. I like watching the thread unravel as they continue to search for what really happened when they ran over the landmine those years ago. Now throw into the mix the thought that loss of family members and friends through the last couple of years might not be accidents, phew, where are we going here. How do they wrap their brains around that? What about the message given to Faith, in person, for Cade? Just makes me wonder even more if Mouse is not dead? Could he possibly feel betrayed? Its been tingling in the back of my mind since book 2. Except that still wouldn't account for why and how it all happened in the first place. Hooked, I am hooked on this series. The romance is a benefit to this series. I received an Arc and voluntarily express my thoughts and opinions.
