Ugggghhhhhh I want to scream !!! Not because it ends on a little bit of a cliffy (it is a duet) Let me start by saying how much I love the way Smith's writing walks the line between insanity and possibility Sailor's husband sells her to pay off his debt - though it isn't a sale like you think - just wait for it Kier takes his purchases seriously - if you can call them that - once they are used goods he usually disposes of them Only this one provides a bit of a challenge A sort of sick entertainment if you will Leaving Kier wondering if he will ever tire of her Sailor is all kinds of "Don't mess with me". In the beginning, it does not seem that way She just needed to unpack her bad h'arse persona - Dust off years of robotic "yes honey"'s - And take back the reins Kier is six feet shy of sane! Really I don't think he has any concept of how the "moral side" of humanity works He isn't all bad just tarnished - A life of believing emotions are for the weak and to keep control you need to rule with fear Don't forget the outdated misogynistic beliefs When you put these two together you have an explosively entertaining entanglement Then add in Joey, Dillan, Paige, Ellie and a host of other supporting characters and you have a slightly improbable romance that will keep you up well past dawn

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Chained Hands blew me away! It's book one of the Chained Hearts duet. I've been wanting to read T.L. Smith's books for so long and I just can't reconcile why I waited so long. This story was utter perfection besides the gut-wrenching cliffhanger but that was expected. Sailor and Keir were angst personified that fed my angst addiction rather well. Sailor's horrible husband takes her to a sex club where he tells her he loves her and then sells her to cover his debt. I would have loved torturing him until death. Keir is the mafia king of New York. The intensity pouring off this man bled through the pages and had me intoxicated. I really loved Sailor! With the passing of one night, Keir finds the meek woman had been replaced with a bad core at her very core. When she got married, she buried the bad girl and did her best to be his perfect, good wife. Look where it got her! After one night, she taps into that well of darkness and draws her to him. He is completely intrigued with all the makings of obsession growing. If you love dark romance of the mafia variety, then I highly recommend this read. You will not be sorry. I only needed to read the first few pages and I was completely obsessed. The world development and character description and growth was spot on. The chemistry and heat had me turning the air conditioning right on my face. The intrigue and suspense kept me perched on the edge of my seat. I can’t wait until book two of this duet. Thankfully, it's right around the corner. This is my honest opinion, freely given.

This is the first book in the Chained Hearts Duet, a Dark Mafia Romance. Keir and Sailor's story is intense, and captivating! I loved it! They are such amazing characters! I loved to have both POV's. Keir is a mafia king, alpha, ruthless, dark, and dominant. Sailor is beautiful, strong, sassy, and determined. They share a sizzling chemistry. I liked their banter. The storyline is fast-paced and entertaining, filled with twists and turns. And now that cliffhanger!! 😲 I can't wait to read Locked Hearts, the next book in the Series!! I liked the amazing characters, and the original plot. If you like Dark Mafia Romance, this one is definitely for you!
