About this ebook

Sweet baby Jesus, someone’s stolen a lot of Christmas dough!

All is calm and bright as Globe, Arizona’s holiday celebrations approach. Selena Marx should have known it wouldn’t stay that way. The painted snowflakes on her shop window are barely dry when her best friend, Josie Woodrow, bursts in with news that the baby Jesus is missing from the crèche in front of St. Ignatius.

Selena has enough on her mind without having to use her psychic powers to suss out the culprit. Her boyfriend Calvin Standingbear’s parents are still on the snow-covered fence about accepting her, which throws a dimmer on the town’s highly anticipated Festival of Lights. And when Calvin springs a surprise on the solstice, Selena realizes she has some work to do to reconcile the two men in her life: Calvin, and her cursed cat, Archie.

KEYWORDS: witch, warlock, wizard, sorcerer, psychic, medium, telepath, cop hero, sheriff, detective, police, tarot, crystal ball, wicca, small town romance, small town mystery, cat mystery, magic spell, curse, fish out of water, opposites attract, cozy mystery, cozy cat mystery, cozy witch mystery, holiday mystery, Christmas mystery, holiday romance, Christmas romance

The last thing she needs is a spontaneous vision that indicates the baby Jesus theft was more than just a prank. And if someone doesn’t spill the beans soon, someone’s getting away with…well, not murder (this time), but a whole lot of dough — and we’re not talking cookies.

The holidays have kept Selena Marx very busy at her store in Globe, Arizona; along with playing detective to find who stole Baby Jesus from the crèche in front of the town’s St. Ignatius Church. Of course, she is still very troubled that her boyfriend Calvin Standingbear’s parents still have not accepted her as his girlfriend. So as Christmas day approaches Selena continues with the mystery of the stolen Baby Jesus, and gets a holiday jolt that she was not expecting. This is a delightful novella about Christmas and all the surprises that the holidays can bring. I highly recommend this book along with the rest in the series.

It's almost time for Yule! Selena may not celebrate Christmas like the rest of Globe, Az, but she still makes her own festive period as fun and colourful as possible. But there are a couple of sticky points to overcome - Calvin's parents are less than welcoming and the local nativity scene has been robbed! Who would steal a 60yr old hand-carved baby Jesus? Is it teenagers like the Sheriff believes or is there something else afoot? This mystery will get you suitably in the mood, no matter what winter holiday you may or may not celebrate. Calvin and Selena are going from strength to strength, something poor Archie is uncomfortable about accepting. Gentle humour, cosy mystery with plenty to enjoy!

This review is for Jingle Spells, Hedgewitch for Hire #5 by Christine Pope. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. It's December and Christmas and the Yule are fast approaching when Josie bursts into Selena's store and announces that the baby Jesus has been stolen from the crèche in town. And of course Josie expects Selena to find said baby even though Selena isn't that type of a witch. This short story reacquaints us will the lovable characters from Globe as they celebrate the season. The description of the Festival of Lights held in the Archeological Park is amazing and I wish it were real so I could see it! So what Christmas miracles are going to happen this year in globe? Will Archie get the best Christmas present ever? Will Calvin's parents accept Selena being in his life? Will the baby Jesus be found in time? And why does Jack Faulkner look so guilty? You are going to have to read this story to find out. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Can't wait for the next book in the series.
