About this ebook

When the truth burns away her illusions, only one man can break her fall.

A few months ago, Skyler Fields didn’t believe witches were real. Until she was kidnapped and held prisoner in a facility that forced her to face the fact — she is one. And not just a run-of-the-broom witch with a cool party trick, either. She can control fire with a mere thought, and detect when other witches are nearby.

Freed with the help of a fellow prisoner, she follows her thumb to Arizona, where, she’s told, the Wilcox clan will give her the help she needs. She never expected the first Wilcox she meets to make her pulse race.

With his tall, dark good looks and smoke-gray eyes, Jasper Wilcox could easily distract Skyler from her mission. But she has questions about her heritage, and the buzzing in her head tells her she’s in the presence of a warlock who can get her the answers she so desperately craves.

As Skyler and Jasper work to peel away the lies surrounding the source of her gifts, they are irresistibly drawn together. But the deeper they dig, the greater the danger that the truth will tear them apart...and put the entire Wilcox clan in danger.

Christine I love this series! my grandparents live in Jerome in the 20's. My aunt was born there. in the mid 70's my husband and I were in a theater group and performed meladramas at the spirit room bar. 3 show. a Sunday. I'm a 3rd generation native of Arizona mostly phx,Tucson and Nogales. such a fun series with all sorts of withes and warlock from east to west coast. Are you going to write anymore on this series. I've loved all your books. these are just closer to home. k

This ninth book in the series could be read standalone, but there are continual references to incidents and people that were subjects of previous books. This is a good, enjoyable series of interesting, tender, sweet romances, chronicling the budding romances and final couplings of Wheeler Park witches and their ‘the one’, as well as fascinating descriptions of their unique talents as they overcome the obstacles in their path to togetherness. This is the story of how Jasper Wilcox and Skyler Fields met, became acquainted, recognized they were ‘the one’ for each other, had a sweet, tender romance, and finally became a couple. Skyler has escaped from a facility investigating people with unusual abilities - Skyler can generate a fireball. This sounds like a revival of Project Daedalus, which the Wheeler Park witches disbanded several years ago in earlier books. Three other subjects are detained in the facility. The challenge is to shut the facility down and rescue the witches, one of them perhaps Laurel’s Nathan (from a previous book). All this goes on while Jasper and Skyler slowly but inexorably fall more and more deeply in love. The perpetrators of the project are a surprising revelation as are the actions and reactions of both groups.

This was a very nice conclusion to the Witches of Wheeler Park series. The relationship between Jasper Wilcox and Skyler Fields was entertaining from beginning to story conclusion. Skyler is kidnapped, imprisoned, escapes her captors after having the bombshell of being a witch dropped on her and flees to the Arizona Wilcox witch clan for assistance. She and Jasper fall for each other and proceed to explore the greater Arizona area and their developing relationship. Christine Pope does a really great job of bringing Arizona and the lifestyle to life in her books. This book also pulls characters and storyline from the previous books in the series into this conclusion, wrapping up the series in a most satisfying way.
