About this ebook

When four members of one family-owned corporation are kidnapped off the streets in Honolulu, Gavin’s intel says this is a corporate espionage case … but is it?

There’s not much to like about this case. Too many people are involved, … including an old friend of Gavin’s. But, as Gavin digs deeper into the motives of the suspect pool, events get uglier, and bodies start to fall.

Rosalina has no idea how she ended up in this nightmare, but all she cares about is her ailing parents who have been separated from her and her sister. Even when she and her sister are freed, Rosalina finds no sign of their mother or father. Trying to rescue them means deciphering friend from foe …

It comes down to the wire as this close family corporation falls apart, revealing the core of darkness inside, … and leaves Gavin and Rosalina struggling to stay safe as enemies work to take out them both.

I always like a light easy-to-read page-turner books, and this book definitely one of them, therefore I really like it, considering I devoured it in just a few hours. It was started with kidnapping then everything getting more and more interesting and full of actions since then, yup lots of actions going on here. As for the couple, even though the sparks between Rosaline and Gavin is not as much as I wanted and not as much as the couples in the previous books, I still adore these two, they're just perfect for each other. As for the story, it's kinda predictable to me and some parts got me questioning why and still didn't get the answers, but knowing the suspects got what they're deserve in the end, I felt nothing but satisfaction when the book finished. Great actions, good story, cute couple, yup definitely a MUST-READ one for a light suspense romance lovers.

This Maverick series is really interesting, entertaining and difficult to put down. In this story Gavin finds himself on his way to Honolulu with Shane to help. A family planned a trip through Japan and then Hawaii and the dad planned a bit of business on this vacation time. However, someone else planned evil pursuits as well and kidnapped the parents and two adult daughters. Upon arrival in Honolulu, Gavin was surprised to be greeted by Steve, whom he had worked with in the past. Steve is the older daughter's fiance and was able to update them further about family dynamics etc. on the way to the hotel. So the mystery becomes more of a problem as Rosalina escapes her bonds and frees her older sister Melinda. However the parents are nowhere to be found. Rosalina explains more of the family's history and the search continues. Very interesting history and the chase is perfect. By the time the story was finished I think I suspected everyone at one point or another. Very well done as always. The epilogue talks of Shane finding his new assignment including a hostage situation and a friend as well. Can't wait!

Talk about sibling rivalry... Rosalina has grown up feeling completely overshadowed by her older sister Melinda, who was born with a birth defect requiring the use of a prosthetic leg. The ten years between them was a major gap, and Melinda’s cold attitude toward Rosalina extended to emotional manipulation, using her physical condition to usurp all of their parents’ attention. Suddenly, though, while on a stay in Hawaii, the two parents and their daughters are kidnapped by very violent persons unknown to them. Gavin and Shane are dispatched by the Mavericks to find the family and keep them safe. What a roller coaster ride as the daughters are separated from the parents, and Rosalina is able to free both herself and Melinda. While Melinda continues to think only of herself, Rosalina works with Gavin and Shane to find out who is behind the kidnappings and where her parents are still being held. The action left me breathless, and the growing respect that Gavin and Shane have for research scientist Rosalina and her logical, no-nonsense intelligence is heartwarming. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
