Laura Johansson
3.5 stars. I enjoy romantic suspense immensely. This series could be classified as that. Stacey and Killian have a fun relationship which is more visible to the Maverick of the day's partner than the reader, in this book it's, Hatch. I did not quite see or rather feel the chemistry between the two much in the book, although they banter like two very good friends more often than not. The attraction all happens after the action, the mystery, the drama and the suspense is all over. The attraction leads to chemistry. You want to keep reading because you do want to know how it ends. When it's finished it's just great that all is well and ends well.

When Stacy the daughter of the retired governor of New York, is kidnapped Mavericks are called to rescue her. The Mavericks are a black ops secret government agency. Two ex-SEALs, in this case Killian and Hatch, work together on missions with the rest of the Maverick team providing intel and anything else they may need. I am a big fan of Dale Mayer, but this book wasn’t my favorite. I like the plot and action. I just thought the relationship in the book was a little awkward. Stacy and Hatch seemed to have a good rapport, but Stacy kept reminding us that she was more attracted to Killian. I never really understood why. The friendship between the three characters was enjoyable and the story was original and made up for the minor issue I had. I don’t think this should keep anyone from reading the book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

TW//CW brutality, death, domestic abuse, kidnapping, murder, sexual content, violence A 3.5 stars read. As you know I'm a big fan of a light suspense read, this type of book always made up my day. It's always fun, full of action, great mystery and suspense. This book is definitely fall in that category, so yeah I really enjoyed it. It's Killian's book. Killian's mission was to rescue a woman that's being kidnapped twice, yup you heard that right, twice kidnapped. It was full of suspense from the beginning. I enjoy the mystery of who's involved and responsible for the kidnappings. I knew some of the bad guys and the motive, but there was another question surrounding the second kidnapping that got me turning page after page. It might be a bit dragging in the middle and pretty predictable, but I still really like it though, especially the cute romance between Killian and Stacey and their banter. Totally recommended for anyone who's looking for a light suspense romance read
