***4 Stars*** This was a fun, quick read and not only a great start to a new series, but also in the ever expanding Dare family saga. I have to come clean and admit that much of the fun for me was due to watching Austin go through every emotion and reaction possible to having a surprise baby dropped off on his doorstep, but I did love how the whole baby issue pushed Austin and Quinn to confront their attraction to each other. Austin and Quinn were a lot of fun. Austin is a good man with a generous heart who finds himself in a bit of a crossroads when it comes to how he is living his life. Quinn is sweet, sassy and driven. She has goals she wants to achieve and isn’t afraid to put the work into get them accomplished. Their journey to their HEA was a fun one. While the whole baby issue did push them closer together, the attraction they felt ~ but didn’t really act on ~ was there from the first moment they met. They respected and admired each other and found that they truly liked who the other person was outside of the office. The baby helped both see the others softer and more vulnerable side and bumped up the chemistry that was already simmering between them. The roadblock in their journey wasn’t a surprise, but I actually liked how it happened because it showed just how well they really knew each other. This was a fun read, there is a bit of drama and suspense thrown in for good measure, but overall an enjoyable read. Much of the fun was due to Austin’s reactions to everything ‘baby’. Some surprised me, but many were ones I would have expected of any man finding an infant on his doorstep. As for the supporting cast of characters, the Dare’s, in general, are always a lot of fun, so I’m totally looking forward to getting to know this section of the family better! ~ Copy provided by the author & voluntarily reviewed ~**~

Dare to Resist is a great start to Carly Phillips new series, Dare Nation. The Dares have always been a great family and it's exciting that we get to continue on with them. Austin Prescott is an ex-football player and he's currently an agent who is looking for a new administrative assistant. He's due to have surgery to donate a kidney to a family member and he needs someone in place before that happens. Little does he know that when Quinn arrives for the job interview, she's going to not only be able to handle his clients, but him as well! Oh and let's not forget that he's attracted to her the first time he lays eyes on her. Quinnlyn Stone has come to the interview prepared and she makes a great first impression on Austin. She wants to forge her own path after so many years of her family taking her for granted and not giving her wants and needs any thought. She's willing to stand up to Austin, which lets him know she'll handle the athletes just fine. The interesting thing here is the attraction is mutual and after a moment of weakness, Quinn and Austin give in and find themselves locked in a kiss. Fast-forward a year, the kiss well in the rear-view mirror, Austin calls Quinn in a panic when he arrives home and finds a package on his doorstep in the form of a baby! There is a note that says she is his, but that's it. Quinn jumps in to help and it's clear that her years of taking care of her siblings and cousins is coming in handy because she knows all the ins and outs that Austin needs to care for Jenny. As the two work together to care for the little girl while they await the results of the paternity test, it becomes clear that the attraction from the year before has not dimmed. Will these two be able to make a go of it? Or will the things that Quinn believes she wants out of her life force her to walk away from not only Austin, but Jenny too? There was so much to love about this book. I enjoyed how much of a fish out of water Austin was when Jenny arrived and how he wasn't afraid to admit it. I also liked how it was a slow realization for Quinn that what she thought she always wanted didn't have to be her final path. This was a great start to this series and I am very much looking forward to the next one in the series!

DARE TO RESIST is the first instalment in Carly Phillips’ contemporary, adult DARE NATION erotic, romance series focusing on the Prescott/ Dare family-another spin off from the author’s DARE TO LOVE series. This is sports agent Austin Prescott, and PA Quinnlyn Stone’s story line. You do not have to have read the previous series to understand or follow the current timeline but like the original series, there is a back story involving the Dare family, and by extension the Prescott family. Told from dual third person perspectives (Quinn and Austin) DARE TO RESIST follows the forbidden relationship between thirty four year old, sports agent Austin Prescott, and twenty-eight year old PA Quinnlyn Stone. Austin Prescott was in desperate need of a new PA; with his father / uncle’s upcoming surgery, and Austin donating a much needed kidney, our hero was struggling with his depleting time line. Enter PA Quinnlyn Stone, and the woman with whom Austin will fall in love but all does not go according to plan when an abandoned baby is found on Austin’s doorstep, a baby Austin knew nothing about. What ensues is the building relationship and romance between Austin and Quinn, and the potential fall-out as motherhood was never in the cards for our story line heroine. Quinnlyn Stone never wanted children but ‘working’ alongside Austin as he struggles to raise the daughter he never knew finds Quinn reconsidering her options but in the end, our heroine refuses to give in to her heart and her soul. Austin had no idea that he had fathered a child. Knowing nothing about raising a baby, Austin begs Quinn Stone to move in and help, placing temptation within reach for our story line hero. The relationship between Quinn and Austin is one of the forbidden. Austin Prescott is Quinnlynn’s boss, and our heroine refuses to jeopardize her position for an affair with our hero but the attraction is palpable; and everyone including family knows that in the end, our couple will end up together. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic, and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Ian and Riley Dare (Dare to Love #1), Alex and Madison Dare (Dare to Desire #2) : Austin’s siblings-baseball player Jaxon, doctor Braden, sister Bri, and football star Damon, their mother Christine, and their biological father Paul Dare: as well as Quinn’s best friend and PI Evie Wolfe. Evie and Damon’s story line is next in DARE TO TEMPT. DARE TO RESIST is a multi-troped story of family, friendships, revelations and love. The premise is emotional and inspiring; the romance is seductive and spicy; the characters are energetic, lively and sassy. DARE TO RESIST is an encouraging and animated look at family, blood or otherwise.
