Devil May Care

If you like powerful metaphors, anti-hero redemption and a lot of angst, the Devil trilogy, a Poseidon retelling, is definitely for you. After the events from the last book where Poseidon sacrifices everything for Ashley, he is lost and in pain, restless and brooding. And Ashley is in pain too, trying to cope with losing her father and realizing he was not a good guy. Let me say that I really wanted to love this book but the angst level was too much for me and it just lasted for too long. The action scenes were fun though but some conflicts were resolved a bit too conveniently and I am not sure Poseidon has been redeemed at the end of this. However, there are lot of thinks I liked about this story: the ever-present sea, the metaphors, Poseidon's reunion with his brothers and him overcoming his very dark and troubled past. Overall, it was an entertaining book!
