Loved it. Big change from the rest of the books without changing the characters we love although it leaves you utterly hanging for more at the end. To be honest the magic in this book bends a little to much to the fantasy rather than the urban for me in some parts especially towards the end (UF has always had that appeal of perhaps it could be). It's very different setting to the other books however as a reviewer said on good reads this book does a good job at setting the scene for the series to continue without it getting to repedative.

I suppose I should start by saying I'm a long time fan of Faith Hunter and Jane Yellowrock, so this will be full of fangirling. I will not apologize for that. One thing Faith Hunter does that is so very difficult for authors to get right, is she engages you immediately in her books. I don't think I've had a problem getting involved in one of her books since Skinwalker, which, being the first is often the case so I don't worry too much about it when it's at that point. And I'm so glad I didn't! This series is so full of emotions and action, well fleshed out characters and perfect world building! There's virtually nothing bad to say about this series. This is one of those epic series that just hold your heart and never let go, that pull you back over and over so you can relive the joys, the pains, the loves involved in every volume written. Simply put, My God This Woman Can WRITE!!!! I know the time is coming when this wonderful series will end. And it's going to break my heart!

Really amazing; I love how this series progresses and the characters grow. Apparently there's only one more book coming in the series and I'll miss Jane and Beast so very much. Someone please please please renew for a few more books.
