Acerca de este libro electrónico

A new translation into modern American English directly from the original Russian manuscript. This edition contains an Afterword by the translator, a timeline of Tolstoy's life and works, and a glossary of philosophic terminology used throughout Tolstoy's literature and philosophy. Family Happiness (1859) by Leo Tolstoy explores the romantic and marital journey of its protagonist, Masha. The novella delves into the complexities of love, marriage, and happiness as Masha navigates the challenges of a significant age gap with her husband Sergey. Through this intimate portrayal of a relationship, Tolstoy reflects on the nature of contentment and fulfillment in life, offering philosophical insights on the importance of personal growth and emotional understanding within a marriage. The novella's literary merit lies in its profound character study and its ability to evoke a range of emotions in the reader. |
