Intriguing storyline that revealed more information about The Sling. Dexter and Ashley continued their flirting but something happens to put them under the same roof. A dangerous situation, an interfering ex and more evidence comes to light. Ashely and Dexter have past relationships that caused them to doubt themselves. They have sizzling hot chemistry and their bantering was entertaining. I absolutely would recommend this fantastic series

Dex has sort of hung around the periphery of the series so far, but he takes center stage in this book. The K-9 department’s case has now crossed over with the fire department’s arson investigation. And the stakes are raised even higher when his crush, Ashley, is targeted after taking case files home from work. I love this series. I’m loving the heroes. But the heroines may drive me to drink. Dex is funny, and alpha, and protective, and all the things I look for in a first responder hero.

Had plenty of flames to heat the reader up Ashley, the K-9 unit assistant, has had a crush on Dex, a lieutenant with the Portland Fire Department, for quite some time but has never acted on it beyond the casual flirting they both enjoy. As the story progresses work piles on, living situations are gone, and their relationship falters before it gets too far along. Lexy Parker had plenty of flames to heat to heat the reader up in For His Bravery. This group of first responders can’t seem to catch a break when it come to bringing down the Sling, but do see to get closer and closer with every book.
