TRIGGER WARNING!! Past assault, rape and attempted assault, may be to intense for some readers! 4 1/2 Stars! I came upon this writer in a free book promo and I will most definitely will be reading more of her work. Two people with a past filled with secrets, come together after an accident and both end up helping the other heal. One robbed of their love and livelihood and the other of their innocents and the nightmare that won't let them go forward to the future. As stated before, there are some intense realities in this book but there's also talk of much counseling, patience other methods of help that were sought by those affected. The writer handled it with sensitivity. I do recommend this one.

This is a story with real issues for real people. No billionaire cowboy with money to burn, sweeping a damsel off her feet and saving the day. This is a a book that gets you right in the gut.

I guess it's the clean version but note there are triggers. A warning would be great.

Kay Lyons always wanted to be a writer, ever since the age of seven or eight when she copied the pictures out of a Charlie Brown book and rewrote the story because she didn’t like the plot. Through the years her stories have changed but one characteristic stayed true— they were all romances. Each and every one of her manuscripts included a love story.

Published in 2005 with Harlequin Enterprises, Kay’s first release was a national bestseller. Kay has also been a HOLT Medallion, Book Buyers Best and RITA Award nominee. Look for her most recent novels with Kindred Spirits Publishing.
