About this eBook

His nickname is Satan.... But Lord Sayden White is so much more. A charmer, a rake, and a man who refuses to follow convention.

And he bends to no woman.

Especially not a bluestocking who looks over her spectacles with enough derision to shrivel his nether regions. But even he has to confess that Miss Samantha Longnook is smart as hell. And when Sam comes to him with a proposition to help him launch a new business, it’s an offer he can’t refuse. Or is it just that her grey eyes have captured a part of him he thought long dead. Because the more time he spends with her, the more he has to wonder if her free spirit might just suit him perfectly.

This wild lord is just a means to an end…

Samantha has never been interested in convention. Nor does she wish to be subject to a man’s rule. Which is why she’s decided to use her brains to make her own way in the world. She’s done some research as she knows she can help Lord Sayden White develop a coal mine and make enough money to make certain their both successful for the rest of their lives. Never mind that the man sizzles with the sort of masculine mystery she’s spent her life ignoring. This is her chance at a bright and independent future.

But as danger and attraction build, Samantha begins to wonder if independence is actually the prize she’s after.

Sayden, the wildest of the White siblings, finally meets his match in this entertaining novel. Samantha Longnook has been subjugated to the men in her family for long enough, and as she strikes out for her independence, she continually bumps heads with the handsome rake who intrigues her. I enjoyed the way in which Sayden and Samantha interacted, his respect for her intelligence, and their mutual understanding of their deeper need for acceptance. With their enemy putting the final nail in the coffin of their business venture, Sayden and his brothers have no choice but to make their mining operation successful and key to that success is Samantha. However, the question to be answered is whether Sayden loves Samantha enough for her to give up her own dream. I received a copy of this well-written novel as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

What's not to love? Sayden White, aka Satan lived life to the fullest and women loved him. All except one Samantha Longnook, a bluestocking. Yep, his charming smile did not seem to work! But he needed her because she understood about coal and he needed the money. Luckily she did too and they would both come out ahead. What was not expected was the attraction. She was determined not to marry and pursue her own interest. He knew a bluestocking should not interest him, but.... I absolutely have been entranced by this series and was so excited to read Syden's story. Can I just say, hold onto your heart? Sigh.
