This is the second story in the "Sterling Wives" series. A stand alone read that starts with the death of Jonathon Sterling dying in a car accident. He leaves his company to his two ex's and wife. I don't think I have ever heard of this happening before but interesting enough the author makes it work. This is Clay and Astrid's story. Astrid was Sterling's second wife and Clay is Sterling's wife's brother. He also happens to be the architect working on a project that Astrid has been put on. As these two work together lines get blurred. These two are explosive together but one has trust issues and it definitely shows. It's a captivating and intriguing story that is full on emotional depth.

I was stoked Astrid was the next book in the series as I thought there was a lot more to her than what we first saw and I was right, there is plenty of complexity to her and the more you get to know her the more you connect and sympathize with her. The sparks between her and Clay are crazy but there is alot against them but boy when they get together ... (fans face). But not only are you wanting to see where things may go for Astrid and Clay there are the issues with the company and I am so with Astrid in regards to what she thinks is going on so there are quiet a few frustrating and nail biting moments to be had. I am absolutely loving this series and can not wait for the next book to see what happens next!!!!! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I opened this book not expecting to have an overly positive reaction to Astrid. Her demeanor was so chilly and aloof in the previous book, that I thought I wouldn’t be able to connect with her at all. Imagine my surprise to discover that I loved Astrid. In fact, I think she’s become my new favorite of the Sterling wives. There’s a lot more going on behind her polite, professional mask and I’m so glad we got this chance to peek behind it. Clay was a much tougher nut to crack. He’s got loads of trust issues and he took them out on Astrid. That left him looking like a jerk for a lot of this book. Thankfully, it’s easy to see how much love he has for his family and his grovelling game is on point. By the end, I was able to love him too. This story also has some pretty intense corporate espionage that makes me quite desperate to get my hands on the final book of this trilogy. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book through Booksprout.
