This is book five in The Dallas Longhorns Series and it is Piper and Beau's story and omg it is an emotional and a must read. Beau played for the Dallas Longhorns he was also a player that only did one night with with no commitment, no feelings and definitely no relationships as Baseball was his life and what he did best. Piper is a yoga teacher and she was working with the Dallas Longhorns player's keeping them supple and fit which reduces injuries and she also did online video's and podcasts as she wanted to build and have her own business in fitness and nutrition but that would take money which she didn't have at the moment but she was determined to eventually succeed. When Beau's reputation starts to effect his career his agent suggests that he lives like a Mobi or get a fake girlfriend and that is where Piper came in and she agreed to be his fake girlfriend and Beau will give her the money to start her business so they both agree to go for it and hopefully it will work benefiting both of them. The connection and chemistry between them is so strong that you can feel it sizzling of the pages of this book and there past is what gives them a stronger connection and they are both so vulnerable in there own way but have so much baggage but when feelings start to get involved will they give in to it or will there walls go even higher so they don't get hurt especially as Beau is possibly leaving to go to a new town and club only time will tell what the outcome will be. I absolutely loved this book and it is definitely my favourite book of this series even though I have loved every single book. Tara Wyatt is an amazing author and writer and she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention and on the edge of their seats and her books are so addictive that you can't put them down and have to keep turning the pages to see what would happen next. I definitely recommend you read this book, series and other books by her and you will not be disappointed as every one of her books takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. I Voluntarily Reviewed an Arc Copy of this Amazing and Emotional Book.

HIT AND RUN is the fifth instalment in Tara Wyatt’s contemporary, adult TEXAS LONGHORNS erotic, romance baseball series. This is thirty-two year old, Texas Longhorns shortstop Beau Beckett, and twenty-seven year old, yoga instructor Piper Rhodes’ story line. HIT AND RUN can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Told from dual third person perspectives (Piper and Beau) HIT AND RUN follows the fake boyfriend/girlfriend relationship between thirty-two year old, Texas Longhorns shortstop Beau Beckett, and twenty-seven year old, yoga instructor Piper Rhodes. Beau Beckett is having one of the best seasons of his career. At the end of his contract, with free agency on the line, Beau might have his pick of any team in the league but Beau’s reputation off the field is another matter entirely, and his actions have threatened his future as a major league star. In an effort to tame his reputation, Beau asks Texas Longhorns yoga instructor Piper Rhodes to pretend to be his girlfriend, a woman who stirs something deep within our story line hero. What ensues is the building romance and relationship Piper and Beau, and the potential fall out as both of their careers are taking off, in opposite directions. Piper Rhodes is desperate to start her own on-line app, an app for which she is struggling for money. When the bank refuses her final application, Piper battles between head and heart until Beau Beckett makes her an offer she cannot refuse. As their ‘pretend’ relationship takes hold, hearts will be broken when Beau is offered the a multi-million dollar contract in Seattle, while Piper is offered her own spot on national TV. The relationship between Piper and Beau begins as a fake arrangement, one in which both will benefit from their fabricated lies. Beau is desperate to clean up his reputation, and Piper struggles to fund the app that she hopes to make her a star. With both having issues of trust, neither one is willing to commit to forever, at the very least for the foreseeable future. As Piper and Beau continue their ruse, neither one expected to fall in love. The $ex scene are intimate, erotic and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, fun and energetic secondary and supporting characters including most of the previous story line couples. HIT AND RUN is a thought-provoking story of secrets and lies, trust and communication, lust and love. The premise is heartwarming, encouraging and uplifting; the romance is provocative and sensual; the characters are feisty, sassy and spirited.

I did not care for Beau and I especially did not like how we are introduced to him. That’s a hard no for me. Plus, he lacks respect for women. I did like Piper, who had her S together. It is ironic that Beau is a mess and is wealthy and will be more wealthy. Yet a hard working lady has to pretend to be in a relationship to fund her hustle. So many things wrong with that scenario. Not buying a fake relationship. It’s nit a thing. I may have worked for a certain footwear company, so it’s definitely not a thing. I do commend the author for giving Beau a decent character arc, though.
