A perfect continuation of an amazing series. Jim Butcher does the supernatural/detective story right, making you genuinely care about his characters and the mischief that they find themselves in. The tension and humor are well balanced and the twists and turns of each story are something I look forward to with each new book.

After a few transitional books I was pleased to see that my favorite wizard is getting back into the swing of things. This book was fantastic, sporting several twist and turns as the plot developed. Great supporting characters and a great plot make for happy reading.

I truly don't know how Jim Butcher does it. The stakes seem so high in every story, the consequences so dire, and yet every new adventure we see Harry pushed to new dangers and even bigger heavy hitters. Two books ago i was worried that it would get stale, using Dragon Ball as my affirmation of the theory as fact, but now I'm in it for the long haul. I'm not done with this series until the pen stops rising for Harry

About the author

A martial arts enthusiast whose résumé includes a long list of skills rendered obsolete at least two hundred years ago, #1 New York Times bestselling author Jim Butcher turned to writing as a career because anything else probably would have driven him insane. He lives mostly inside his own head so that he can write down the conversation of his imaginary friends, but his head can generally be found in Independence, Missouri. Jim is the author of the Dresden Files, the Codex Alera novels, and the Cinder Spires series, which began with The Aeronaut’s Windlass.
