About this ebook

There are planets not meant to be colonized by humans.

For three decades they will sleep, while their great colonial starship transports them to what is believed to be the perfect world. Their ship is state-of-the-art and totally automatic, allowing the passengers to remain in suspended animation for most of the journey.

When they wake, they expect to find a virgin planet, unspoiled by the hands of man - a world where they can pursue happiness in a safe and free environment.

The naive colonists from Earth have a different reality to face.

Readers Favorites AL CLARK (Book One) Literary Review ★★★★★ by Paul F. Johnson Al Clark by Jonathan G. Meyer grabs the readers attention from the first page. One of my favorite genres is science fiction, above all, space opera. I found Al Clark to be space opera and more. I call it space adventure. The author has created a strong, believable set of characters, particularly the First Six. The story plot is strong and steady with several well designed twists, leaving a true space opera and space adventure fan expectantly waiting to turn the next page. I strongly recommend this book for those that enjoy good sci-fi. Good story. What the readers are saying: ★★★★★ Scifi as it was meant to be - Jennifer Seidler ★★★★★ I have a new (to me) author to add to my favorites - Lesley Wood ★★★★★ Scifi at its best, intrigue, robots, action, mystery, and very witty. Loved it! - Montzalee Wittman ★★★★★ Good old fashioned sci-fi - CenVillager ★★★★ Reminds me a little of the Sci-Fi of days gone by - jcat-top 500 reviewer ★★★★★ Classic Space Opera at its best - K.G. Evans Jr. ★★★★★ Finally, A Great World Exploration Sci-Fi Book - GeneK6 Available in Digital, Paperback, and AudioBook

A little naif, but nice action in the beginning. Then it becames too descriptive. The action only comes back at the planet, against the dinosaurs... Yes, dinosaurs. After decades traveling through space they encounter a planet with dinosaurs, saber toothed tigers and primitive people... A complete nonsense 🙄 not to mention the 66 million years that exist between dinos and saber toothed tigers 🙂, they could never live in the same ecosystem. So, the author did fail in imaging a new alien world, he took the Earth stereotypes with him but still the reading is nice.

Schlock. I did read the whole thing, but I wanted to give it a fair shake. This is the sci fi you have to turn off your brain for.

I was surprised at the optimism of the whole book. No matter how much danger (and there was plenty). Good came out of it. The author kept the excitement going. I couldn't put the book down and I am anxious to see what is next.

About the author

Jonathan G. Meyer is a retired corporate electrician with a life-long passion for science fiction. As the middle child in a family with seven children, he spent a lot of time reading books. Jon has read from many genres, but SciFi has always been his favorite. Because of his love of reading, at the age of sixty he began to write the stories he has mulled over for years. Although writing is a process that requires dedication and patience, over the last several years he has managed to complete and publish a five book series called AL CLARK, a SciFi Adventure named VINCENT, and a look back in time book titled - A CURIOUS ORB.
