About this ebook

It all started with the wrong Help Wanted ad. Of course it did.

I’m a professional fluffer. It’s NOT what you think. I stage homes for a living. Real estate agents love me, and my work stands on its own merits.

Sigh. Get your mind out of the gutter. Go ahead. Laugh. I’ll wait.

See? That’s the problem. My career has used the term “fluffer” for decades. I didn’t even know there was a more… lascivious definition of the term.

Until it was too late.

The ad for a “professional fluffer” on Craigslist seemed like divine intervention. My last unemployment check was in the bank. I was desperate. Rent was due. The ad said cash paid at the end of the day. The perfect job!

Staging homes means showing your best angle. The same principle applies in making a certain kind of movie. Turns out a “fluffer” doesn’t arrange decorative pillows on a couch.

They arrange other soft, round-ish objects.

The job isn’t hard. Er, I mean, it is — it’s about being hard. Or, well… helping other people to be hard.

Oh, man…

And that’s the other problem. A man. No, not one of the stars on the movie set. Will Lotham – my high school crush. The owner of the house where we’re filming. Illegally. In a vacation rental.

By the time the cops show up, what I thought was just a great house staging gig turned into a nightmare involving pictures of me with an undressed star, Will rescuing me from an arrest, and a humiliating lesson in my own naivete.

My job turned out to be so much harder than I expected. But you know what’s easier than I ever imagined?

Having all my dreams come true.

A book worth getting Kicked out of bed for! Yep I read in bed and I am not ashamed to admit it. And when I laugh so loud and so much I keep my husband up while reading a book and get kicked out of bed then you know...THIS IS A D*M* GOOD BOOK! Author Julia Kent has always been known for being one of the top RomCom authors anywhere with the Random series & Shopping for a Billionaire series but I must admit I think that Fluffy might just do these others. Oh My Goodness Mallory is a nerdy girl who is book smart but gets herself into all kinds of situations because frankly she is not to smart in the ways of the world. Life seems to throw things at her all the time and when it does it makes for the most hilarious situations. Then we have the superstar Will. He is still as hot as he was in high school and is back home working. By comedy of errors they happen to meet up at his old house and lets just say he offers her a "real job" and not the one she is there doing. So far I have read this book twice. Once when I received the ARC and then when it hit my kindle on release. I can say read it more than once... once for the humor and funny bits. Because oh my giddy aunt there are so many of them in this book. And then come back and re-read it again later as a book again. That way you are not just seeing it as a funny, humor but you can see all the under- lying things. This book isn't just good..for me it was great and i wished i could give it more than 5 stars. This is the start of a whole new crazy series and I am so happy I am on the ride at the start.

I can’t be the only one thinking… “It’s so fluffy I’m going to die” everytime I read this title, right? I know I’ve totally just outted myself as a mom but really I think anyone with a sense of humor would love Despicable Me. Which that has nothing to do with this book besides sharing the name Fluffy with one of my favorite lines in the movie. However, this book could have totally made me die… with laughter! This is one of Julia Kent’s funniest books that I have read. Ok, so I’ve only read a handful of her books but this one was through the roof funny! She slayed this story! I feel as though I laughed from the first word until the last word. Julia Kent is such a fun writer... I'd been in a bit of a rut lately. Everything feels like the same... but with Fluffy, nothing was what I expected! Mal makes this story. She’s just so darn likable. Plus it doesn't hurt that pretty much every book nerd that I know, such as myself, has dealt with a crush on the most popular boy in school before. Don’t we all wish to be seen? Speaking of the high school days, if you haven’t read the prequel Little Miss Perfect, than you just have to stop and grab it for free on Amazon. It’s a hoot and sets up Fluffy perfectly. You’ll get to know Mallory and Will a bit before they bump into each other in a hilarious way! Mal’s friends were just too insane not to love! Everyone needs some besties to push them out of their comfort zones and that is just what Perky and Fiona do! Well that and seriously pick on her when she deserves it. I adored their dynamics. They were there for each other and supported each other. They were the best of friends. I’m beside myself with excitement that Perky’s story will be next. Kent’s writing and storytelling is just the best! You won’t be able to help yourself falling for this story, these characters! I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.

This is one of those reads that is just an honestly good time. I don't know how many times my son gave me "the look" because I broke out in laughter. Mal is highly intelligent but a bit socially inept. Blessed with book smarts yet lacking in street smarts. For her, it is the everyday things that at times are a bit harder to comprehend. The innuendos, the facades.. why not just say what you mean and mean what you say? Like life hadn't given her enough hurdles to maneuver. Mal is not really comfortable outside of her box. She seems to prefer being the wallflower. Her straight forward interpretation of life leads to one comical event after another. Mal ends up reconnecting with her high school crush under the most embarrassing of circumstances. She was supposed to fluffing a home, something she is more than skilled at. Turns out her lack of slang knowledge may just put her in the pokey. Will was her high school fantasy. The popular jock who, back then, somehow balanced sexy and smart making it look easy. Having him suddenly appear back in her life is definitely messing with her feng shui. Torn between the need to eat and the ingrained instinct to retreat Mal finds herself in uncharted territory. Will, on the other hand, sees a second chance. A chance to grasp the one thing he let slip through his fingers. I really enjoyed how this played out. Lots of comedic relief blended with a very sweet journey of self-acceptance and understanding. Let us not overlook the dessert menu! Will is practically the perfect book boyfriend. He has his flaws but for me, they only made him more endearing. The storyline plays a bit into fantasy land but it worked well with the cast and their personalities. There were a few scenes that had my hackles up(mal's behavior at the reunion) and at times I wished I could deliver some attitude adjustments to some of the characters. But overall? A great read that had me laughing

About the author

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Julia Kent writes romantic comedy with an edge. Since 2013, she has sold more than 2 million books, with 4 New York Times bestsellers and more than 19 appearances on the USA Today bestseller list. Her books have been translated into French and German, with more titles releasing in 2019.

From billionaires to BBWs to new adult rock stars, Julia finds a sensual, goofy joy in every contemporary romance she writes. Unlike Shannon from Shopping for a Billionaire, she did not meet her husband after dropping her phone in a men's room toilet (and he isn't a billionaire she met in a romantic comedy).

She lives in New England with her husband and three children where she is the only person in the household with the gene required to change empty toilet paper rolls.
