When an assassin tries to kill undercover DEA agent Tucker Pankov the same week his boss is taken out, Tucker has good reason to be paranoid. And when other members of his elite team are not only targeted, but stripped of top-secret security clearance, Tucker has one shot at discovering who wants them dead—and why. So he kidnaps the only woman he thinks can save them.

Brilliant NSA analyst Karen Stafford doesn’t like being forced into anything, especially by someone she doesn’t trust. Yet after a hijacked US-owned drone starts attacking government installations resulting in mass casualties, Karen has to take Tucker’s side.  Now, two unlikely allies must unite to prevent an escalating and unthinkable terrorist conspiracy. But as Tucker and Karen grow intimate, they realize the conspiracy runs deep, and their enemies are closer than anyone realized.

I have a love/hate relationship with Edge of Danger by Katie Reus. I loved it so much and hated that it had to end. This is another fast paced, action filled, sexy romantic suspense in the Deadly Ops series. A series that continues to get better with each book I read. I absolutely love the characters developed in this series and the story lines are phenomenal. Reus does a fantastic job of keeping me on the edge of my seat while reading. The unraveling of the conspiracy happening in Edge of Danger was so exciting to follow. I like it when we know who the culprits are and we get to follow the trail along with the characters. It makes my heart race a little faster when I knew who the enemy is but the characters do not yet. There is just the right amount of action packed into this story and smoking hot romance. Reus balances the two very well and knows where to put those sexy scenes to allow you to catch your breath from the action. Of course, your breathing might become erratic once you finish those scenes, too. Tucker and Karen are the main characters in this story, although you could argue that Wesley Burkhart, NSA Director is the main character in any book is featured. Tucker Pankov and Karen Stafford meet in a very unconventional way which was awesome. I was very curious how this relationship was going to work based on that little introduction, but as usual, Reus finds a way. The rest of their relationship was as unique as their initial meeting was so unique. They are both very strong individuals with a love for their country and are fiercely willing to protect it at all costs. Let's go back to Wesley Burkhart if you don't mind. I fell in love with him in Shattered Duty and watching Burkhart and Selene work together in Edge of Danger to protect his agents and take a close friends's agents under his wing made me love him a little more. He is tough but definitely respects those around him and you see it in return. I sure hope we get a Burkhart story because that one will be amazing. If you like romantic suspense, I highly suggest you give Edge of Danger by Katie Reus a try. All the books in her Deadly Ops series are stand alones with connecting characters. You will absolutely love it.

When Tucker Pankov and his team are targeted by assassins and stripped of their top-secret security clearance, Tucker decides their best option is to kidnap the only woman he thinks can save them in high energy romantic suspense. Once again, Katie Reus took command of the written word and brought fourth an exhilarating romantic suspense that gets the blood pumping and the imagination going and I can’t wait to read the next one. 4 ½ STARS See my full review at: Paranormal Haven .com

Once again, Ms Reus gives us a story that keeps us on the edge of seats, biting our nails, and our hearts pounding. This time our main characters are DEA agent Tucker Pankov, and NSA analyst Karen Stafford. They meet when Tucker and 3 of his DEA co-workers, kidnap her so she can help them find out who and why the four of them are being stripped of their security clearance and accused of treason. The worse part was that all of them felt awful to have had to kidnap her and scare her in thinking she was going to be tortured and /or raped. But quickly it’s made evident they wish her no harm and really need her help. Needless to say that in between all the suspense, attempts to murder them, and trying to clear their names, Tucker and Karen are drawn to each other. The tension and suspense is constant and even though the audiobook is long, time flies and all you want to do is have an excuse to listen to it so you can find out what’s going to happen next. One of the things I specially like about this talented author is that her female characters are strong , independent women and that the men that fall for them are strong alpha males that respect and admire them. Also the author presents a world that is not white and black, but rather shades of gray. A great addition to an engaging and well written series. I want to point out that the narrator did an excellent job with the various voices of the characters. I was gifted this audiobook. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
