The Blazing Glass is full of twists and turns, danger, death, magic, jinn, djinn, goddesses, witches, and romance. Liv and Gabe fall more in love while at the same time, grow more insecure about their relationship. Will Liv be safer with Gabe around or should he leave to keep her safe, was a huge theme in this story. My thoughts about Gran turned out to be right. I knew there was more to her than met the eye. It is highly unusual for me to have any qualms about a Kimberly Loth book but I have a few with this story. The incident on the beach-- it didn't seem to serve any useful purpose to move the story forward and then it was basically forgotten. When Ali needed to get Liv to safety, why did he drive instead of transporting them? Why didn't Gran do more to protect Liv? While these items bothered me, they didn't alter my overall opinion of the book. I was hooked from beginning to end and hated when I reached the last page of the story. I can't wait to see what happens next. I strongly urge you to read the Sons of the Sand series.
