About this ebook

If I’ve said it once in my life, I’ve said nine thousand times. ‘Stay away from your best friend’s sister!’ It worked for a while, until a college party. When that ended in disaster, I nearly had it tattooed on my forehead. We kept our distance after that, but I never filled that Avery shaped hole in my heart. Then my ‘brother from another mother’ tells me she’s here to take her position in the family company, and in she sweeps looking better than any of the fantasies I’ve had over the years. Fantastic. Cue the mantra. I don’t know why I think it’d work now. Avery isn’t someone you can ignore. She’s the world’s greatest distraction.

At one point, Luke was my everything. Our time together in college changed me on a molecular level and I was so sure we were destined to be that couple people wished they could be. Then reality slapped me in the face and my everything turned into a steaming pile of nothing. Fast forward two years, and all those Luke shaped molecules turn into Luke-haters. Now, he’s everything I hate in men. The top of my dating checklist says “Not Luke.” I don’t know why I think cannon balling back into his life is a good idea. At first, I just wanted to prove myself to him, and take my place at the company. But Luke’s a gorgeous distraction I don’t need, one I’m not sure my heart can handle.

Tropes: shared past, enemies to lovers, brother's best friend, best friend's sister, office romance, romcom, forced proximity, second chance, strong willed FMC, banter

Luke and Avery in Distracting the Bosshole made for a great book! From reading previous books in this series I was excited to dive into Lusas' story and find out more about his past, and I loved every minute of this book. The way they cared so much for each other was easy to spot - finding their way back to each other was the true challenge. Filled with sweet moments and moments that made me shake my head both in ridiculous occurrences and laughter all included. It was also great to see even more character development from Owen. This was such a fun read!

4.5 stars. This series has put me through the wringer, I'm always left feeling emotional when I've finished a book from this series. I'll be honest and say I struggled with Avery at times, maybe because I'd gotten to know Lucas so well I felt protective of him? Seeing them together, finding out about their past and why he changed his name made me like her so much more. Their story was full of ups, downs, past, present, sadness, happiness, support, forgiveness, acceptance and so much love. They both made mistakes in my eyes, but I was so happy to see them work things out. I am sad that this is the end of the series, but am hopeful that the Author's Note at the end will be a way for me to not lose contact with these wonderful characters who I have fallen in love with. I am voluntarily leaving this review after receiving an ARC.

I have just finished the last book in the Bosshole series and love it. Avery and Lucas were just made for each other and it was so funny with the play between all 6 of the characters, I haven't laughed so much since reading The Boys from Mulberry Lane, which is also by this author, who has a great talent for writing brilliant books that are funny and also romantic. I didn't want this book and series to end I enjoyed it so much. While I was reading this my husband kept asking what was funny?, and I would read the line out to him, he laughed too. I look forward to reading many more from this author.

About the author

Kristin is the magic behind The Boys of Mulberry Lane. From this first series she has created an entire world for us to call home. Often you can find little “Easter Eggs” throughout her books as well as character crossovers.

She resides in Pennsylvania just outside Philly with her husband, children, and several furry friends. When she isn’t writing she enjoys sewing/crafting, reading, and spending time with her family camping and exploring nature. She also works part time in the operating room which grants the medical knowledge she shares in her books.

So how did Kristin come to be an author? The simple answer….boredom. While her husband was away for work after the little monsters had already been tucked snuggly in their beds, she sat down to dip into an idea that she thought would be “just for funsies”. Now, 40-ish books later you can find her up at all hours writing away, because who needs sleep anyway?
