What another magical and humorous addition to the series! This book had me laughing out loud and made me not want to put it down. This still has the magic that can be found in the previous books if not more! This is a well written story and I like that Lucien is still becoming a big part in Macey's life!

'Above the Waves' is book five in the "Seven Wardens" series by Laura Greenwood and Skye MacKinnon. If you've followed the series, then you know this will not be a standalone book. If not, then understand each book is built on the last so it's best to read them in order. When you do, you'll find Macey was definitely less likable in this storyline for a very good reason. The Mahoun has been destroyed but that still left Macey with a long to-do list; defeat his siblings, become Queen of the Kelpies, confront her mother about that little bombshell of a secret, decide how she feels about Luc and, most importantly, spend a few minutes with her men and finally enjoy some waffles. ~Sigh~ After just a few hours she's faced with more responsibilities and complications overtake her time again. This one seems to lack some of the spark and banter with the guys so hopefully, 'Under the Ice' will have a different feel to it. Still a good read with lots of action and adventure.

so many battle, some people embracing the changes, some blaming Macey and her men for them - even if they had kept so many from destruction. Bigotry of species is well in place among some of the people Macey has fought so hard for - and hunger for power, even patricide, is burrowed into the hearts and actions of her. Macey again faces a darkness within herself - an anger beast, that also gives strength to her magic. Trust and support keep her and her men from disappearing and dying out completely, but there is more pain - and some fun steamy sessions! And yet, the battle still rages on! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
