Wadjet searches for a way to restore her waning powers, and along the way, she finds something she never expected...I really enjoy reading Laura Greenwood's Egypt-based novels, because they introduce me to some fascinating aspects of Egyptian culture. I never knew much about the lesser Egyptian gods and goddesses, and to see them portrayed with thoughts and insecurities of their own is very interesting. I received an ARC copy but the opinions expressed are solely my own.

This was really a two-pronged story. First, there is the developing relationship between Wadjet and Kherty. The repayment of a favor grows into friendship and then into something even larger. But then there’s also Wadjet’s search for the sister of her heart, the other half of her power and who she is. It was very interesting to consider that neither of the goddesses could regain their full powers without each other. And now I’m wondering if that’s part of how Wadjet was captured

The “Forgotten Gods” storyline continues with Wadjet, goddess of Lower Egypt, weakened from her time with Seth, Wadjet need to restore her powers, but she has few believers and limited options. After calling in a favor with Kherty, Rah’s boatman. With Kherty Wadjet sets out on a quest of self-discovery, as she searches for her sister, Nekhbet, and finds a friendship that could turn into love. This was a good addition to the series. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leav
