The regency period really isn't my thing. Where the men have the say and women are the prize, however, this did have a much more independent FMC than I expected. I liked the characters, disliked the FMC mother, didn't feel the pull of the world that Laura Greenwood was building in this book. It was a short read and maybe if longer I could have gotten more invested. I have truly enjoyed all other Laura Greenwood's other books so the setting is just not my think. It was a sweet, HEA, romance.

“I for one am rather enjoying your honesty. I find it refreshing." Esther is a wallflower with few prospects, or so she is convinced until a friend introduces her to someone equally uninterested in the marriage mart aspect of the London season. Laurence sets out to avoid the frilly husband hunters who can’t take the time tone real, and honest with him… what he discovers in Esther is something so rare he wasn’t sure he believed it could be real. This done in one quick read stands alone nicely.
