About this ebook

Discover The Vampire Detective series, an urban fantasy romance series with a snarky vampire lead, a poly romance sub-plot, and a pinch of British humour.

125-year-old vampire, Lucy Corentine, has always dreamed of being a private investigator, but when a real mystery knocks on her door, she discovers it isn't as easy as she first thought.

Luckily for Lucy, she doesn't have to solve it alone. Between the support of her long term almost-fiancé, her former best friend turned rival, an oddly behaving blood slave, and an eccentric inventor, she might actually have a chance at solving the puzzle.

As they all find themselves drawn deeper into the dark world surrounding blood slaves and the illegal practices surrounding them, Lucy realises she's going to have to use her family connections to put a stop to things she doesn't agree with.

The Vampire Detective complete series includes Fangs For Nothing, What The Fangs, Fangs For All, and An Origin Tail. It is an urban fantasy series with a polyamorous romance plotline.

The Vampire Detective: The Complete Series has four books. I read each book individually and re-read them to review the boxset. My hope was that time would give me a different perspective. It did not. In Fangs For Nothing (The Vampire Detective #1), it is difficult to get away from wanting the story to be a detective, thriller, suspense with some paranormal/supernatural action kind of story, especially with the title Vampire Detective. The detective part seems to be just something Lucy does to keep from getting bored. The story has witty elements. However, it seems more of a book for teens rather than adults or young adults. Then again, it does have adult themes, so it is not appropriate for teens. I am not sure what audience the book captures, and it wasn't easy to stay engaged. There is little to no suspense or action in the storyline and no great mysteries to solve. There is romance, and the characters are fun and likable. The second book in the series, What The Fangs (The Vampire Detective #2), is similar to the first book. It has a minimal amount of private investigation going on and a lot of witty romance; let me figure out my love life storyline. Lucy, William, and Derek are walking in the reverse harem realm, which feels awkward. Watt, still getting in the way of Lucy's not so burgeoning PI business. The story does flow better than the first book but was still not very engaging. The introduction of Mika and Watson is a good turn in the storyline. There is more of a mystery element in this book, which was lovely to read. There is also a little cliffhanger ending that compels you to read the next book in the series. Book three in the series is Fangs For All (The Vampire Detective #3). It ends much better than it started. The storyline became progressively better with each book in the series. The stories are not that long, so it should not take a day or two to read. Unlike the previous two, the mystery does prevail in this book, and of course, Lucy's life becomes extremely overwhelming. She has to figure things out quickly, and she does in a fashion that brings her the respect of the vampire community and admiration for former blood slave Mika and all the others her actions save. Lucy also comes into her own a bit more in this book. There are a few areas of confusion where new information is introduced but does not seem to fit anywhere. Also, the characters never really address their feelings. This was the last book in the series, but another book was added, An Origin Tale. In An Origin Tale: (The Vampire Detective #3.5/#4), we find Lucy and her mates trying to solve the mystery of the roots of their blind cat came. The storyline is a little (very little) humorous and suspenseful, with a tad bit of mystery thrown in. Lucy cannot let any stone go unturned in finding out Jester's origin, and It ends up being simpler and yet more complicated. For those familiar with Lucy's story, this interesting tale provides yet another stone turned up on this saga. An Origin Tail is undoubtedly a nice quirky lead and a good step in this series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Laura Greenwood has combined her "The Vampire Detective" series into one complete box set. Whether you've read each book individually as they were released or you've waited for the series to be combined, this is a great way to not only add to any collection you have or just sit back and get lost for an afternoon in these magical mysteries. 1. FANGS FOR NOTHING Laura Greenwood and Arizona Tape have given us 'Fangs for Nothing', the first book in the "Vampire Detective" series. To be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect from this one but after a bit, I realized this is just a fun, rather light-hearted, reverse romance with a bit of mystery to solve. Between the character's quirky personalities and the bit of intrigue, it was a great escape for a few hours. 2. WHAT THE FANGS There's just no reading this book without a sense of humor. Lucy is a comedy of errors unto herself as she tries so hard to be this great PI and solve the case. The antics she and her fellows get into kept me chuckling throughout the book. Her life definitely isn't boring, that's for sure. I'm really curious about what'll come next. 3. FANGS FOR ALL 'Fangs for All' is the third book in Laura Greenwood and Arizona Tape's "Vampire Detective" series and this one packs a punch. The storyline became a little deeper with each book and this one brought a depth in the characters I hadn't expected. Lucy's life becomes extremely overwhelming. She decides to close down the blood slavery auction and finds out the Vampire Council has been backing it. So she has to find out who owns the warehouses, get the evidence, and take on the Council. If you read books one and two, aren't you a bit curious about Jester? Who called with the riddle and sent the blind cat? Was there a message? There are so many bits and pieces that came with the twists and turns that if I tried to tell you more than this, I'd give it away and I know you don't want to miss any of this story. It was a good read and I'm hoping that some of the new information that was discovered and the unanswered questions still floating out there will be addressed in another series. 4. AN ORIGIN TAIL 'An Origin Tail' is book four in Laura Greenwood's "The Vampire Detective" series but it can be read as a standalone. Luckily, there is enough information to keep the story entertaining without feeling lost from the lack of details found in previous books. If you've read the blurb, then you know Lucy is trying to find out who send a small blind cat named Jester to her grammie. The only thing she has to go on is a suspicious-looking letter from Doris, evidently, a woman grammie had previously gone sky diving with. A slight mystery, quirky characters, and a blind cat made this an enjoyable read.

The Vampire Detective: Complete . . . This is a fun urban fantasy series about a vampire P.I. who will keep you laughing. Below is a review of one of the books to give you an idea of what’s ahead for you! The Vampire Detective complete series includes: • Fangs For Nothing (#1) • What The Fangs (#2) • Fangs For All (#3) • An Origin Tail *** Reviewing “WHAT THE FANGS (#2)” *** Lucy Corentine is a vampire private investigator who doesn’t appear to be a very successful PI since she hasn’t cleared up the mysteries of her blind cat, Jester, who had been left in a cardboard box on her porch, nor the presence of the blood slave she found in her bedroom. She also has a mystery about a watch, but getting the details to find it seemed to be a long, slow process since her client was incapable of making it clear what to even look for! And those are just a few of the mysteries she hadn’t solved yet! Now she’s getting lots of gifts and no one is admitting to being the sender. Even her love life is getting a little cluttered with three men. Will she make any progress on her cases? Will her dates work out more successfully than they have? This series continues to be a crazy, funny, enjoyable experience. Lucy is still her snarky self and I love the interactions with the other characters in her life. I do hope she has a fall-back career choice in case the PI job continues as it has so far. The story line is well-paced as the reader is guided through the mysteries Lucy most often ignores. But something is building up, and you need to keep reading to find out what’s going on…maybe! With the riddle and some other things that might be clues, perhaps we will find out who she is dealing with? And because this is the complete series now, you don’t have to wait through a cliffhanger to find where this story stops and the new one begins!
