About this ebook

A jousting accident leads to teaming up with an unknown detective...

When Amy and Ambrose arrive at a museum for a well-deserved day off, they find themselves pulled into an investigation they never saw coming, a jousting accident.

With plenty of witnesses, a dangerous sport, and no end of information, it seems like the case could be a simple open-and-shut one, even if it's not supposed to be their own.

But as more comes to light, they realise that what appears to be an accident, might not be as simple as they first thought.

Great read ideal for the beach as not too long and drawn out. I really like Laura’s writing and this certainly didn’t disappoint . This is the setting I’m sure for more from this new pairing of super sleuths . Great characters situations and above all a compelling immersive read thanks to the great descriptions, wow I’ve said great a lot but it’s better than being grating … I digress …this is a good book and it’s well written so go read already…. I received a free copy of this book and am volu

I'm absolutely loving this series and the way that Amy and Ambrose work together. In this instalment they are on a weekend away and are about to que for the museum when they notice police crime scene tape stopping their progress. Stacey, the morgue Doctor, happens to come along, and let's them in and makes introductions to the Detective on the case. And before you know it they are invited to help out ☺️ This book is a really enjoyable and well written quick read. It fits well into the series, showing that Amy and Ambrose are trying to have a life outside of work.

This story had pros and cons for me, hence the 3 stars but it's still worth an afternoon read. The pros first. The "murder" took place in a very unique setting, we got to meet a blast from Amethyst's past, who as it turns out, is a detective a couple of towns over. It wasn't their usual type of case, in fact, it was a down right tragedy. It had an aloof vampire in it. (Any mention of vampires is an automatic pro for me.) Now for the cons. The flow of the story seemed extremely rushed and it was to predictable. None in the story used any of their unique talents except once for a tiny second. It was still very entertaining and worth the hour it took to read it.
