About this ebook

The one that got away is now the one I refuse to let go.

Enlisting was one of my life goals, so was marrying my high school sweetheart Sophie and escaping our small town. Nothing has ever hurt me more than when she turned down my proposal.

I was stupid back then, heartbroken and foolish. A one-night stand was supposed to help me get over Sophie, instead I got the girl pregnant and ruined any chance of Sophie ever looking my way again.

For the last few years I’ve focused on being the best father and soldier I could be. Now I’ve done my duty for my country and it’s time to take over raising my daughter, her mother insists it’s my turn. What better place to do it, than in my own hometown?

Sophie has moved on and is now a successful bakery owner, but she’s still the woman I could never forget. My daughter is her biggest fan, secretly so am I.

With a series of burglaries in town, Sophie is worried her bakery is next. I might not have made the right decisions all those years ago, but this time I’m going to prove to Sophie that I’m the right man for her.

A future without her simply isn’t an option.

It was ok. my enjoyment of the story was hampered by the dialogue between the daughter and like every other character. I feel like the author has never met a 9 year old. No 9 year old speaks like Kendall does and some of the conversations they were having around her were totally inappropriate and damaging. I was frustrated with Mark because he seemed to be leaving parent decision making to his 9 year old daughter. I sort of hoped he didn't end up with Sophie because he's so bloody incompetent. He goes weeks before establishing where his baby momma is and when she'll be back, he even asks his 9 year old (who has a phone btw) about updates on the mum which is insane to me. reminds me of my own father which is probably why this rant is angry lol

This series is fast becoming one of my all time favourites and I was excited to read A Chance at Forever ( Second Chance Harbor #6 ) and let me just say Mark and Sophie’s journey was everything I expected and so much more, I was captivated from the first page and there was no putting down until the final word had been read. If you love second chance romance look no further than this wonderful, entertaining series. Sophie and Mark were high school sweethearts their future was mapped out until he

This is the first book I read of this series and won't be my last. This is a story of second chances, small town romance, single dad with a history of young love. I love that the main characters feel real and you can connect with them; full of flaws, miscommunication, assumptions and "what could have been". Mark and Sophie's romance is beautiful and heart warming. I definitely recommend this book and I can't wait to read the previous books in the series!
