I actually thought this was going to be a thriller story but was surprised when it took a different turn a real jumbled up mystery.... Based on a lady called Melody... Just really enjoyed this from start to finish it worked so well how it flipped through the ages depending what chapter your on some chapters were the present but alot of them took you back to when Melody was just a little girl and it helped the reader build such a clear picture... Thoroughly enjoyed this from start to finish and it's worth all 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🤗👍

Usually I am not a huge fan of books that flick between timeframes but I found the slight dizziness of it part of the character's journey. Already got another Lisa Jewell book ready to begin :-) cannot wait to immerse myself once more.

About the author

Lisa Jewell had always planned to write her first book when she was fifty. In fact she wrote it when she was twenty-seven and had just been made redundant from her job as a secretary. Inspired by Nick Hornby’s High Fidelity, a book about young people just like her who lived in London, she wrote the first three chapters of what was to become her first novel, Ralph’s Party. It went on to become the bestselling debut novel of 1998.

Fifteen bestselling novels later, she lives in London with her husband and their two daughters. Lisa writes every day in a local café where she can drink coffee, people-watch and, without access to the internet, actually get some work done . . .
