I ran across this bonus feature while looking for something new to read this summer, and thought it might give me a tad more insight into the interesting synopsis I'd read of The Dark Mirror. Regrettably, I am not impressed after 5 digital pages because whatever magic (pun unintended) the author attempts to spin is lost in the poor writing. In one page alone, a minor throwaway character is called Blakeney Minor, then Blakesney Minor, and finally, a page or so later, Blakesney MAJOR. And no one caught this? Not a lazy editor? Not the author, who should take pride in their work? I finally gave up. The bonus may be free; this waste of my time is not. I'd hate to actually pay for this kind of writing/editing.

Was compelling enough for me to read on, but honestly was not good. There was no character development and no explanation in the first bit that we were allowed to read. The grammar was not great either, in my opinion. I hate sentences that start with but. The journal style is interesting to me, so that is probably what kept me reading. I don't appreciate also that this was on google play for free, but then was just a preview. It was mentioned nowhere in the description that this was just a preview. I'm very disappointed and will most likely never finish this story.

I have a CC on file. Its a prepaid card that I load only when I want a book. I have no money on it currently and I am still able to download free books. So it is not actually charging or even putting a hold on my card or else I would get denied. If you ate afraid go get yourself a prepaid loadable visa or amex at any Target or local grocery store.
