Jack is at a cross road in his life and career even though he doesn't want to admit it and having to see the work psychologist Kira in order to get cleared for work after the shooting doesn't help. I really like Jack after meeting him in In Her Defense so really wanted him to have a happy ending and Kira is that women even though they both don't know what to do with the feelings that grow between them. This is a great read with laughs, tension, sweet moments (Lex's Tea Party) mystery, attraction and secrets to be uncovered. A great addition to this series a series that I am really starting to love While each book is a total stand alone why don't you do yourself a favour and read them all They are tight stories that draw you in with plenty of suspense and drama to keep you fully engaged Detective Jake Donnelly doesn't want to see the police department psychologist even though it is police seeing he shot that scum bag and oput him six feet under where he belongs and he is definitely letting psychologist Kira McGinnis know his feelings but she has no intention of releasing him for work until he takes her and her job seriously. She has enough dramas in her life caring for her daughter and her wayward brother The there live are connected even more when her brother is arrested and is brought home but non other than Jake Soon these two are starting to act on their attraction but who is also sneaking into Kira's office and does it have something to do with Jake You will have to read to see

The story line was good, the character work was good, and the book had a smooth flow to it. This was a great addition to the series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
