Caught by the Cowboy Dad: A Clean Romance

Whether you are new to the series, or a long time fan, this is a stand alone that will grab your attention from the first page on. The main characters in this story are Holden Monroe , Bernadette Carlisle and not to be left behind Devin Monroe. Holden’s life has been turned upside down. He’s lost his job, he made some financial decisions that has shrunk his capital, and his former girlfriend is pregnant . In the midst of this turmoil , Holden is determined to spend part of the summer in an RV with his son Devin. A precocious boy that has his eyes glued to his textbooks and knows that though his Dad is trying, he never really spent more than 4 times a year with him in years past. Something that Holden is realizing was a mistake. Meanwhile, Bernadette Carlisle is an ob/gyn physician who fell in love with Holden, and refuses to marry him out of his sense of duty. As this threesome embarks on a trip, none of them realized that what they thought they wanted was not really what they wanted. You will at times laugh with them, at others want to give them a good shaking and even at times, you’ll want to give them a pat in the back. Subplots develop as well, making this an engaging story with complex characters. Another good addition to this already enjoyable series. I was entrusted a copy of this book. Book 8 is just great! I love this series and so happy to see it continue! The Monroes are quite a family and they seem to keep growing, one way or the other! This book was a clean second chance book and since I love the Monroe series, I am always happy to see a new book come out! When Holden finds out he is about to be a dad for the second time, he wants to try it again with the baby's mom, Bernadette but she has serious doubts as to his sincerity and is sure that things won't work out. The book will make you smile and I think you will enjoy it! I received a copy of this book from the author. All thoughts are my own.

I love this series! As each one comes out, I enjoy delving into the next character. Holden has always held himself back in the other books. He's not a "touchy-feely" guy. How I loved seeing his character evolve into more of that type of person! Bernadette is pregnant with his baby and she refuses to marry him "out of obligation". She is a doctor and can take of herself! She wishes Holden loved her, but doesn't see that happening. When Holden and his 17 year old son, Devin, have a bonding summer trip planned in an RV, Devin finds a way for Bernadette to come along. It's an interesting trip that has all kinds of consequences for those involved. It did move a little slow in parts but I really enjoyed all the characters. All 3 characters learn a lot about themselves and I loved it! Kind of like life! The secondary characters were great too. It just shows you that life doesn't always follow a pattern and sometimes you can go with the flow and people can change. I'm already anticipating the next book!
