In his latest book, the Vision Driven Leader, best-selling author, podcaster and executive coach Michael Hyatt guides his readers through a series of questions to write a "Vision Script" for their organization. Much more detailed than the typical short, pithy mission statement, a vision script is the result of a leader stepping into the future and describing what they see in detail- in their team, their products, their sales, and their impact on the world. According to Michael, “A mission defines what a business is, a vision describes where it’s going.” Throughout the book Michael shares stories of individuals and organizations that were able to triumph because of visionary leaders, and those that failed due to lack of vision. Through these stories, thought provoking questions, and the Vision Script process, the reader learns the difference a clear, well-communicated vision can make in an organization. And he gives us the toolbox to achieve it. In these uncertain times I’ll leave you with one of my favorite quotes from the book… “If the vision is compelling enough, people will apply their best thinking and efforts to figure it out, regardless of the obstacles and opposition.”
