I have been reading Micheal vey for about 10 years now, starting when I was in middle school. I have loved the series this far, but this book didn't feel like the others. It felt like it was written on a third grade reading level. There was a lot of redundancy in the writing and the dialog was incredibly basic, explaining the simplest things. the characters also seemed dumbed down and were easily confused. The plot it's self needed work too. Almost every book is the team going after someone the Elgen captured. This one occurred even in the same spot. A lot of the "twist" were super basic and would only work on a third grader. The voice being Michael's father = good. Jack actually not being a traitor = zero surprise. I hope the next book is better planned out and written at a higher level, because I really do love these books.
