To everyone at Meridian High School, fourteen-year-old Michael Vey is nothing special, just the kid who has Tourette’s syndrome. But in truth, Michael is extremely special—he has electric powers. Michael thinks he is unique until he discovers that a cheerleader named Taylor has the same mysterious powers. With the help of Michael’s friend, Ostin, the three of them set out to discover how Michael and Taylor ended up with their abilities, and their investigation soon brings them to the attention of a powerful group who wants to control the electric teens—and through them, the world.

As a teenager reading these books, I was surprised by the style of the series. The author could have turned the main characters into more personable kids, honestly, and nursed the romance to be deeper. The romance was "outcast ends up with gorgeous cheerleader," which caused the book to seem geared toward younger kids. The characters, both main and supporting, were weak and dull. I reccomend this book to kids ages eleven to thirteen.

Although it reminded me of I am number 4 (3 star rating) The composition of this "novel" is horrible. the author clearly is trying to dumb down the novel and ends up going too far "News flash idaho is a state" didn't make for a funny joke or an informative statement...your five year old might enjoy reading this after the hungry caterpillar

I have never reviewed anything before but I felt it necessary for this book. Richard Paul Evens is one of the greatest authors I have read something from. I read this entire series I'm a little over a week because I lie it so much and it is one of if not the favorite/best series I have ever read and trust me I have read and seen a lot in my 17 year lifetime, I seen and experienced things some most people won't in in there lifetime nor would I want them to, but with that said this series is amazing and I would recommend it's to anyone.
