About this ebook

A new baron accused of murder. A young lady who knows he is innocent. When she helps free him, they will be forced to marry. Can their mutual dislike lead to true love?

A steamy historical suspense romance, about a young woman driven to do the right thing, a lord who does not quite appreciate the gesture, and a murder investigation that could end their new relationship before it begins.

Her conscience drives her to act ...

Miss Lily Abbott knows the new baron is innocent because she saw him entering the widow’s home next door at the time of the crime. But when the widow refuses to assist him, this young woman who hoped to marry for love cannot stand idly by when she knows the truth. Lily risks everything to provide an alibi for the glib gentleman who barely remembers her name.

He can’t believe he has to marry her ...

Lord Brendan Ridley stands accused of patricide to gain the title he now holds. Not even his close family connection to the powerful Duke of Halmesbury can help him. He prays his paramour will come forward to clear his name, but honor dictates he not reveal his whereabouts that night without her consent. When help comes from an unexpected quarter, he finds himself forced to marry an annoying chatterbox to save her from scandal.

When these two mismatched people are forced to marry, will they find a way to work together to reveal an enduring passion before the real murderer strikes again?

Long Live the Baron is the delightful first book in the Inconvenient Scandals series of steamy Regency suspense romance books. If you like worthy heroes, strong heroines, fast-paced plots, and enduring connections, then you’ll adore Nina Jarrett’s charming novel.

Lilly knows that Brenden was other wise occupied at the time of the murder. She implores the neighbor to admit to her late night visitor, but she refuses. Lilly tells the detective that Brenden was with her that night, even though she knows it will ruin her reputation. The story centers around Lilly and Brendens marriage, as well as the deepening mystery of "who done it". It was an easy read with a little bit of spice. This was an exciting love story. It began with a suspicious murder. Prejudice allowed an innocent to be blamed, but after a surprising witness came forward, the hunt for the real killer began, and lives changed. There was much more drama, action, and intrigue, including attempted murder that kept me entertained. I enjoyed it despite how a quick marriage happened due to unfortunate circumstances, a romance began, and despite everything going on, it evolved into a beautiful love. I highly recommend reading!

Long Live the Baron is book six in The Inconvenient Scandals series. This was my first book to read in this series and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The story has a great pace and a number of twists and turns in the plot that I didn’t expect. One of my favorite characters was the villain Lady Slight. She was someone that I just loved to hate. But my favorite character was the heroine Lily Abbott. I received a free copy of this book and am leaving an honest review.

About the author

Regency writer, retired Inc. 500 sales coach, former director of a drug rehabilitation center, and Amazon bestselling author of the Inconvenient Brides series.

Nina started writing her own stories in elementary school but quickly grew distracted when she finished school and moved on to non-profit work with recovering drug addicts. There she worked with people from every walk of life, from privileged neighborhoods to the shantytowns of urban and rural South Africa.

One day, she met a real-life romantic hero. She instantly married her fellow bibliophile and moved to the USA, where she enjoyed a career as a sales coaching executive at an Inc 500 company. She currently lives with her husband on the Florida Gulf Coast.

Nina believes in kindness and the indomitable power of the human spirit. She is fascinated by the amazing, funny people she has met across the world who dared to change their lives. She likes to tell mischievous tales of life-changing decisions and character transformations while drinking excellent coffee and avoiding cookies.
