About this eBook

A documentary exploring a mysterious mass suicide sets the stage for a devious killer in the New York Times bestselling author's crime thriller.

In July 1970, actress Elaina Styles was slain in her rented Seattle mansion along with her husband and their son's nanny. When the baby's remains were found buried in a shallow grave close to a hippie commune, police moved in—only to find all its members already dead in a grisly mass suicide.

Now, decades later, a film about the murders is shooting at the mansion. On-set caterer Laurie Trotter ignores gossip that the production is cursed. But then people start dying . . .

As Laurie digs deep into what happened all those years ago, the truth emerges more twisted than any rumor, and a legacy of brutal vengeance reaches its terrifying climax . . .

I got this book from the discount rack at a dollar store, so I wasn't expecting much at all, however, this story blew my expectations out of the water! It's a great mixture of suspense and slice-of-life, enough to make the characters believable and enough to keep me interested. It has darker themes of course, but was never enough of a downer to ruin my mood! It kept me guessing up until the very end, and I felt sad when it was over. It's not the #1 book I've ever read, but I'd still say it's pretty great and a fun read! I absolutely recommend it :)
