About this ebook

#1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts weaves together passion and obsession, humor and heart, in a novel of two people opening themselves up to the truth—and to each other.

For more than three hundred years, Bluff House has sat above Whiskey Beach, guarding its shore—and its secrets. But to Eli Landon, it’s home.

A Boston lawyer, Eli has weathered an intense year of public scrutiny and police investigations after being accused of—but never arrested for—the murder of his soon-to-be ex-wife.

He finds sanctuary at Bluff House, even though his beloved grandmother is in Boston recuperating from a nasty fall. Abra Walsh is always there, though. Whiskey Beach’s resident housekeeper, yoga instructor, jewelry maker and massage therapist, Abra is a woman of many talents—including helping Eli take control of his life and clear his name. But as they become entangled in each other, they find themselves caught in a net that stretches back for centuries—one that has ensnared a man intent on reaping the rewards of destroying Eli Landon once and for all.

It was a good cast of characters, a nice mystery, and a picturesque setting. It made me want to move to the beach with my dog. Two critiques, she gets a bit whimsical in her descriptions and inside the protagonists head - to the point I would skim past a few stanzas until a conversation or revelation happened rather than slog through how the turbluent white sea caps contrasted with the pink streaks of sunset haha, and the main love story was wholly without any conflict. The was nothing for them to overcome as a couple or if there was it happened off screen so to speak (Eli realizing his feelings, etc). So, overall a good story but definitely not perfect.

I love Nora Roberts and how she tells a tale. This story had adventure, suspense, romance and a personal struggle to live life again. It's an easy, fun read that is well worth the time.

Nora Roberts ok is better than most at their best. I liked this book, but I figured out who did what way to early. It was spelled out a little too easily. I liked both Eli and Abra, but their story was too easy. No real big moments. This one was just ok for me.
