This SEAL found his target…

then lost his heart

Navy SEAL “Diesel” Dalton Samuel Landon can see that Reese Brantley is no damsel in distress. But his mission is clear—infiltrate the hostile rebels’ jungle hideout in Africa and rescue Reese and her boss. Separated from his team—and her boss—Diesel and Reese are on the run. Bullets fly, but risking his life is part of the job. Struggling with their hotter-than-the-jungle attraction, though, proves the real danger is losing his heart.

This book is almost non-stop full of action, suspense, and intrigue. There are a number of hold your breath moments as Diesel, Reese, and his fellow SEALS traverse the jungles of the Congo, and the associated politics. Let's not forget the other trials and tribulations that occur. I loved the fact that Reese was so kick a$$, while still showing her vulnerability. The same goes for Marly, the helo pilot. Although we didn't get to see her vulnerable side, hopefully she will appear in an upcoming book. Based on what Diesel and Reese have endured, their case of instalove is completely understandable. I would have loved an epilogue to read about what happens next with them. I am hoping the other books in this series will feature Diesel's SEAL brothers who we encountered in this book. Maybe we will get an update on Reese and Diesel then. Fast paced and exciting, I devoured this book in one sitting. I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

ARC for honest review with no compensation 4.5 stars One Intrepid Seal by Elle James is a suspenseful, nail biter, fast paced well written book. Reese is a bodyguard for Ferrence, son of the Secretary of Defense, who is on trip for the US government trade talks, but they end up being kidnapped and taken deep in the Congo. With no backup, Reese has to figure out how to get them both out alive and not relive the horror of war she endured while being held captive by Al-Qaeda. Dalton “Diesel” Landon and his seal team are called up to get them back but when Diesel and Reese get separated from the team after the successful rescue, they must find their way back to the pickup point except Diesel gets injured and now they must find medical help and a way out of the jungle. While all this is happening, an attraction is blooming that could lead to love but first they must find their way back to civilization....

If you like suspense and romance then One Intrepid SEAL by Elle James is definitely worth reading. Navy SEAL Diesel Dalton Samuel Landon and his team are called in to get Reese Brantley and her boss out of Africa when they are taken hostage by hostile rebels, but in the chaos of infiltrating their hideout Reese and Diesel are separated from the team and on the run. What they don't expect is the attraction that soon develops between the two of them. I was given an ARC from the author/publisher. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.
