This is an absolute masterpiece. This is the only ever book that I've ever said to myself. " Wow, that's great writing" you expect it whilst reading books but this is the only time I've thought it. Some reviews say it's hard to follow or complicated ... I guess they don't like clever books. It's true this is nowhere near the girl on the train .... it's way better. I had to write this review because after seeing the reviews on this book I want people to know that it's a great book. It's my number 1 stand alone book.

I loved Girl on the Train and this one follows on brilliantly. Building a Web of characters where no one is quite what you expect. Yes it is complicated as there are so many people but the story drags you in and keeps you guessing what has happened. The writing of each chapter from a different character perspective really rounds the story and keeps you engaged with each person. Highly recommend this book.

It's a strange story I found quite hard to follow. It spins on behalf many characters which they tell little by little. Some things repeat over and over whereas the others are hardly mentioned. Every repetition adds some bit to the story you already know but often you already forgot some previous pieces of it. Narrating really reflects the title, the more you read the deeper you are into water. As for the plot it's not bad but hardly very fascinating. The end is a bit weak - the truth wasn't obtained by any
