Um þessa rafbók

The Handbook of Nanocellulose and Nanocellulose-Based Composites is a three-volume set of titles that provides comprehensive information on the emerging field of nanocellulose and its application in composite materials. The Handbook consolidates current knowledge, spanning the entire spectrum from processing, properties, and characterization, right through to modern applications. Each volume is dedicated to a distinct aspect of nanocellulose research, offering in-depth insights, methodologies, and case studies. The Handbook of Nanocellulose and Nanocellulose-Based Composites: Properties and Characterization (volume 2) delves into the intrinsic properties of nanocellulose and the resulting characteristics of nanocellulose-based composites. It comprehensively covers the mechanical, thermal, optical, and barrier properties of nanocellulose materials and discusses various techniques for their characterization. Readers will gain an understanding of the structure-property relationships and the impact of processing on these properties. This volume will aid researchers in tailoring nanocellulose-based composites for specific applications by fine-tuning their properties through manipulation of parameters and processing conditions.• Focuses on the properties and characterization of nanocellulose and nanocellulose-based composites• Covers advanced characterization methods including Synchrotron, Cryo TEM, and AFM techniques• Discusses morphological, physicochemical, and mechanical characterization of Nanocellulose and Nanocellulose-based Composites• Covers rheological, thermal, dielectric, optical, barrier, conductive and permeability properties

Um höfundinn

Dr. Mohammad Jawaid is currently affiliated with the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at United Arab Emirates University. Previously he was a senior fellow (professor) in the Laboratory of Biocomposites Technology at the Institute of Tropical Forestry and Forest Products (INTROP), Universiti Putra Malaysia. He is an eminent scientist with more than twenty years of teaching, and research experience in composite materials. His research interests include hybrid reinforced/filled polymer composites, and advanced materials such as graphene/ nanoclay/fire retardant, lignocellulosic reinforced/filled polymer composites, and the modification and treatment of lignocellulosic fibres and solid wood, and nanocomposites and nanocellulose fibres.

Dr. Ramzi Khiari is a senior lecturer in the Department of Textile Engineering at the Higher Institute of Technological Studies in Ksar-Hellal (Monastir, Tunisia). He graduated with a master’s degree in Textile Engineering from the National Engineering School of Monastir, in 2007 and then went on to complete his Ph.D. in 2010 from the University of Monastir and Grenoble INP in France. In 2017, he was awarded the diploma of "Habilitation Universitaire" from the University of Monastir, and then in 2020 he received the diploma "Habilitation à diriger des Recherches" from Grenoble INP. His research interests focus on the valorization of biomass at multi-scale levels, namely: fibers, nanocellulose, lignin, hemicelluloses, and their use as potential raw materials in several industrial applications (Textile, papermaking, polymeric materials, composites, and nanocomposites).
