This story is dual POV, well written, and an interesting alien/human romance. I enjoyed how it continued the overarching plot in a manner that did not interfere with the romance. I enjoyed Adak’s gentleness with Penny contrasted with his aggressiveness with any potential threats to her. I enjoyed Penny’s gradual confidence in both herself and Adak. I enjoyed that, under pressure, she was able to step up in ways she couldn’t manage before. I enjoyed their intimate interactions.
