This is another good "Bourbon Brothers" story. It is a stand alone read with connected characters. This one is about Renee and Cole. She is new divorced and has moved back home with her son. She is not looking for permanent. However, one night of hot passion with Cole would be just right. Or would it? These two were child hood friends and had crushed on each other in high school. Now they are competing with different proposals pitched to grandfather. This is a fun read.

That ending has stolen all my words, and I kind of no longer have any idea what I thought I wanted to say about this story. I know that Cole has kind of been an enigma in the background of the previous stories. So, I've really been looking forward to seeing what it would take for him to find his happily ever after. Renee was not the answer I was expecting to his relationship woes, but she’s absolutely perfect for him. She inspires him to be a better man, and he shows her how a real partner steps up and cares for the people important to him. I kind of hate saying “goodbye” to the Abbott siblings, but the twist in the end of this book suggests I may not have to completely let them go just yet. I enjoyed this book. When I started reading it, I thought Cole had done something really foul to Ren that would make a relationship between the two much more difficult. It was more a blip on the radar than anything else. I loved that Mercer was added to the book, as well as different aspects of his autism. I also appreciated the Cole embraced Mercer completely. I thought their connection was sweet. I was very surprised that Cole sold himself short. Especially because he was a good man and had accomplished so much. I thought Cole and Ren had a sweet, sexy romance. To be honest, I didn't think the "Bad Boy" Experiment was much of an experiment. This book easily could be read as a standalone. I read book 5 about Dallas and Zora's romance, but now I need to read the first four books. I also enjoyed the way the book ended. The book ended on a cliffhanger of sorts. Everyone got their HEA, but the final scenes opened a door to a brand new series. So, maybe not a complete cliffhanger? I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book received via Booksprout.
